THE ROTARACT CLUB OF PAMANTASAN NG LUNGSOD NG MUNTINLUPA (FORMERLY RAC-MUNTINLUPA POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE) The birth of Rotaract Club of MPC started when Mr. Vivar “Vivs” R. Abrigo, the President of Rotary Club of Muntinlupa North R.I. District 3830, R.I. Year 2000 visited the campus. On his second visit, he brought with him his associates and friends from the Rotary. On the same day, they conducted a short briefing to the students who were interested to join the organization. And right after, the first election was held at the College Library on the 27th day of September, 2000, where Elmer C. Alcebete was elected as the Charter President and Joel S. Mallillin as the Vice President. On the 12th day of October, 2000, the Rotaract Club of MPC was registered to the Rotary International, after President Vivs Abrigo left his office and Mr. Efren V. De Castro as the new President. The Muntinlupa Polytechnic College was the first College and first Rotaract Club sponsored by the Rotary Club of Muntinlupa North. With this, the club started with 15 members excluding the executive officers and directors. The theme for the year was “Create Awareness, Take Action” which the sponsoring Rotary Club believed that the students of Muntinlupa Polytechnic College could be the Rotary’s source of dynamic and energetic men and women and committed partners in serving the community. From Muntinlupa Polytechnic College, now the official name of the club is Rotaract of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun) which signifies progress on its standards and its vital role in meeting the demands for human resources in the community. From 15 members population, now of them are challenged with Rotaract’s plans and goals to make the best with their various ability and capability. Aside from the enhancing tomorrow’s leaders, spread peace and world understand through community services and activities, the club achieved its 1st R.I. Presidential Citation during the term of PP Rachel J. Habla R.Y. 2007-2008 and consistently continued by IPP Ma. Shiela G. Abejo R.Y. 2008-2009. Having the two Presidential Citation, the Club is pesuing to give more services to the community.
